2025 U.S. Study Tour for Exchange Students Concludes Successfully: Bridging Cultures, Building Friendships
The coordinates we set for ourselves largely determine our future path and life’s fulfillment. With this in mind, in January 2025, under the careful coordination of *Window to Philadelphia* and *Denuo Education Group*, Beijing New Oriental Yangzhou Foreign Language School embarked on a study tour to its sister school in Harrisburg, USA.
Study Tour Recap
**Day 1:** Departing from China, the students crossed the Pacific Ocean, traveling nearly 10,000 kilometers before arriving at New York’s international airport, their hearts filled with curiosity.
**Day 2:** In New York, the students marveled at the city’s vibrancy—Times Square’s neon lights and the iconic Statue of Liberty. Later, they visited Princeton University, immersing themselves in its academic atmosphere and exchanging insights with students from around the world, reinforcing their determination to pursue excellence.
**Day 3:** The group explored the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania and the renowned Wharton School, touring its libraries and labs while engaging in discussions with professors and students. In the afternoon, they visited Philadelphia, a city rich in history as the birthplace of American independence.
**Day 4:** At the Franklin Institute, one of America’s most popular science museums, students delved into cutting-edge AI technology, explored brain science, mechanics, and physics, and expanded their scientific horizons.
**Day 5:** In Washington, D.C., the students visited key landmarks like the White House, Capitol Building, and Lincoln Memorial, gaining deeper insights into U.S. political history.
**Day 6:** The National Museum of Natural History captivated them with rare fossils, minerals, and specimens, deepening their appreciation for nature. At the National Air and Space Museum, they witnessed humanity’s aerospace achievements—from the Wright brothers’ first plane to the Apollo lunar module—inspiring awe at human ingenuity.
**Days 7–10:** The highlight was the homestay and classroom immersion at the partner school. Attending classes alongside American peers, the students gained firsthand experience of the U.S. education system. They also celebrated Chinese New Year together, sharing traditions like Peking opera and calligraphy, and exchanging gifts—a heartwarming cultural exchange.
**Day 9:** After classes, the group visited Hershey’s Chocolate World, learning about chocolate-making history and crafting their own treats—an unforgettable sweet experience!
**Day 10:** The closing ceremony marked the end of an enriching journey. Through interactions with teachers, students, and volunteers, the participants broadened their perspectives and developed a clearer sense of self and the world.
**Day 11:** A final exploration of New York before heading to the airport for their return flight.
**Day 12:** Safe arrival back in China. Though the journey was short, the memories will last a lifetime. We look forward to reuniting in the U.S. this summer for another adventure!
Learning Beyond the Classroom
More than just sightseeing, this study tour was an immersive educational experience blending language learning, cultural exchange, hands-on activities, and academic enrichment. By challenging students to step out of their comfort zones, it nurtured their potential and global mindset. Adolescence is a pivotal time for shaping one’s worldview, and this journey—through its blend of awe-inspiring sights and interactive learning—has planted seeds for their future growth, helping them chart a clearer path ahead.
